The Chimay Dorée (Gold) is an authentic trappist product.
The recipe remains unchanged from the beginning and Chimay are transparent about the ingredients that compose their beers. Water, malted barley, sugar, hops, spices and yeast. Sugar is necessary for the creation of carbon dioxide during the second fermentation. Chimay Gold is a beer fermented in the bottle that contains yeast.
Chimay Brewery is a brewery at Scourmont Abbey, a Trappist monastery in Chimay, Hainaut, Belgium, one of the eleven breweries worldwide that produce Trappist beer.
We personally reccomend drinking this beer between 6 and 8°c.
